They’ve made their relationship work for quite some time while watching fellow Tinseltown pairings come and go, but it seems as if the time has come for Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon to part ways.
Sarandon, 61, and Robbins, 53, met on the set of Bull Durham in 1988 and had been domestic partners for 23 years prior to the split. The couple, both known for their outspoken opinions and political activism, famously never married.
“Actress Susan Sarandon and her partner of 23 years, actor Tim Robbins have announced that they separated over the summer. No further comments will be made.” Miss Sarandon’s rep Teal Cannaday said.
With both parties focusing on work efforts, Tim is rumored to be leading up the Gil Junger directed sports flick “Keeper of the Pinstripes,” which is expected to be released in October 2010.
