American Idol sweetheart Carrie Underwood and NHL Ottawa Senators' centre Mike Fisher broke the news of their engagement on Monday, December 21, 2009.
The Ottawa Senators hockey player and the country singer are engaged to be married, according to Mike himself, who confirmed it to the Ottawa Sun yesterday.
"It's true," said Fisher. "We're both obviously excited and very happy."he added.
Fisher popped the question on Sunday, Dec. 20 and no wedding date has been set yet. The romance began in early 2008, when Fisher went backstage at one of Underwood' concerts, but the couple didn't come out publicly as a couple until just under a year ago.
